Mandragora, a film directed by Wiktor Gorecki, is a sad, viscous, and heavy-handed film of familiar (if stereotypical) themes - prostitution, drugs, self-loathing and the saddest theme of all - gay people (in this case boys) are a miserable lot doomed to a life of misery and death. Now … Ta has been around the block a time or two and has managed to experience in one way or t’other these themes and has managed to still be extremely FABULOUS (Though, ah ayum not quite as fabulous as the wonderful Lady Bunny.)
Wiktor Gorecki condemns the lifestyle and wallows in obvious sexual fascination in this drama that recounts sixteen-year-old

Karen Williams is known as that thin Black lesbian stand-up comic with a lot to say and the gift for saying it in a screamingly funny way. Heads turn at her rapid-paced raps on single motherhood, dating, relationships, celibacy, AIDS, economic inequity, racism, codependency, and whatever topic strikes her fancy, or object from the audience catches her attention. Audiences marvel at her strong and thoughtful presence, her acute awareness, but it is her attitude — anger and angst masked behind diffidence — which brings her observations home.

Now, some might call me a whore, but I’ll kiss just about everyone! Quit giggling. What other expression can mean so much? A hug? Nah. There’s only like 3 kinds of hugs.
First, there’s the “Buddy” hug the quick arm-wrap-and-squeeze thing that lasts just amoment ofr two. The Buddy hug is usually accompanied by patting or pounding depending on whether you’re with a twink or a bear. Sometimes, straight men will give their gay friends the one-armed version - Continue Reading »

This is a superb collection of short films and ah raise mah martini glass in salute! L’il ol’ Tallulah gits sooo bored with some of the anthologies of gay films out there but Boys to Men is an entertaining and sometimes sexy collection of gay male shorts that span the generations. Crush, The Mountain King, ..lost, The Confession - this is a must-have.
An outstanding quartet of films that begins with a gay coming of age, Crush (Phillip Bartell). Robbie (Brett Charles) is a gawky 16-year-old whose fondness for boy bands delights the 12-year-old Tina (Ema A. Tuennerman) until she learns just how much he likes them. Realizing that the only

Boidyke. Stem. Down low. Trannyboy. In this lively and broadly researched book, Cornell University psychologist Savin-Williams reveals that the words gay teenagers use to describe their sexual preferences have changed radically over the past 30 years, and so have their attitudes towards same-sex relationships. In fact, many of them are reluctant to define their sexuality at all. “In some respects,” Savin-Williams explains, “these teenagers might relate better to their pre-labeled, pre-identified grandparents than they do with their gay-liberated parents

Deciding on which lesbian films I would consider to be in the top 5 is sure to be a difficult choice for not only myself, but for any lesbian film lover. There are many elements that come to play for each movie. Sure, anyone can play a role, but can they really live it? Convincing the audience that there is more to the role than just a few lines and captivating the viewers is what breathes the life into many lesbian films today.
Oscar Award-winning Boys Don’t Cry is on my top five must see lesbian films list. Directed by Kimberly Pierce, the actors and actresses in this movie bring to life the true story of harassment and bigotry

I work a lot with people who have reached significant turning points in their lives. Some are at the point of making changes in their career to lead a more sustainable life, others have reached critical tolerance for old patterns and ways of living they no longer wish to engage, and others still have simply decided they need new goals, projects and perspectives. The common theme I’ve notice lately with both those I work with as well as others is seeing life as a tapestry.

Mambo Italiano is likely the funniest, sweetest gay comedy l’il ol’ Tallulah hayuz evah watched. Mambo Italiano is the bittersweet story of one young man’s coming out and another young man’s failure to love himself as he is and returns to the closet.
